    Famous for his rugged, daring and fearless style, Junior Johnson continues to be recognized for his contributions to the sport he helped form. The NASCAR legend will be inducted into the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame Thursday, May 25, 2000, at the Charlotte (N.C.) Convention Center.

     We recently lost Volunteer Lawrence Sheets who put in more hours than any other volunteer.  His jokes, stories and endless positive thinking will be greatly missed by all who have entered the Hall of Fame.  No one was a stranger to Lawrence and everyone was his friend.

     Tim Flock, the colorful stock-car racing champion who won championships in NASCAR's top division in 1952 and 1955, was remembered  as the N.C. Auto Racing Hall of Fame held its annual induction.
