On Saturday, November 14, 1998, the North Carolina Auto Racing
Hall of Fame, in association with sponsor, Penske-Kranefuss Racing, will
host the 2nd annual NASCAR auction benefiting the Special Olympics of
Iredell County.
A GREAT LOSS
We recently lost Volunteer Lawrence Sheets who put in more hours than any other
volunteer. His jokes, stories and endless positive thinking will be greatly missed
by all who have entered the Hall of Fame. No one was a stranger to Lawrence and
everyone was his friend.

Famous for his rugged,
daring and fearless style, Junior Johnson continues to be recognized for
his contributions to the sport he helped form. The NASCAR legend will be
inducted into the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame Thursday, May
25, 2000, at the Charlotte (N.C.) Convention Center.
